PROVIDENT FUND AND GRATUITY
Due to the strong agitation by NUSI in 1963 in New Delhi, Provident Fund and Gratuity, which serves as retirement benefit for the seafarers and their families is being deposited with the Government bodies i.e. Commissioner, Seamen’s Provident Fund Office and the Seafarers Welfare Fund Society respectively.
