Dear Sisters and Brothers,
Sub: NUSI financial support for all ranks of seafarers serving on Cruise Ships
Covid 19 has changed the world. The Cruise industry has been affected very badly. Our seafarers serving on Cruise ships and their family members are going through very challenging times. Though there have been some openings, the employment on cruise ships has really not picked up.
National Union of Seafarers of India (NUSI) had organized an exclusive webinar for the seafarers serving on cruise yesterday 6th of April, 2021. The purpose of the webinar was to bring out the real situation of the Cruise sector. The interactive webinar with national and international panellists which was relayed live on NUSI Facebook https://www.facebook.com/nusiindia/videos/124110316363031/ and also on the NUSI YouTube https://youtu.be/QkGdkLcDTzc has been well appreciated.
As an outcome of the webinar, NUSI wants to support all ranks of seafarers serving on cruise ships in whatever possible. All ranks of seafarers serving on cruise ships can apply to receive financial assistance of Rs. 3,000/- for their child's education upto12th Standard as per guidelines (upto two children).

Circular no. 12 of 2021 31st March, 2021
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Sub: NUSI Petition to Hon’ble Prime Minister
COVID Vaccination for all ranks of seafarers on priority
You are aware that National Union of Seafarers of India (NUSI) had taken up the matter with the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 11th December, 2020 vide our letter no. GS/65/060/2020 to enable all ranks of seafarers to receive the COVID vaccine on priority. NUSI has already declared financial support for the vaccination by its initiatives for all ranks of seafarers as per guidelines. Though the matter is receiving the highest consideration, it is still pending.
Indian seafarers have already been declared “Key Workers” and should receive the Covid vaccine on priority. Philippines and Indonesia are giving their seafarers Covid vaccine on priority. The employment of Indian seafarers is at stake as many countries are already asking for Covid Vaccine certificate during crew change. NUSI is petitioning the Government of India so that all ranks of our Indian seafarers do not loose their jobs.
It is your duty to support and publicize the petition. It is in the interest of our seafarers and their families.
